Volunteering opportunities

We provide volunteering opportunities to those who are interested in agriculture, forestry, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, nursery management, organic farming and livestock farming. Both national and international volunteers are welcome to volunteer with us. You will volunteer in our seed and plant resource center of our company located in Indrawati-10, Sindhupalchok of Nepal. It is located 63 km from Kathmandu, which is about a 2.5 hr drive. Our seed and plant resource center is an agroforestry model farm where we produce our seeds and plants. It is located in a beautiful landscape surrounded and isolated by forests. We have 4 dedicated staff members in our resource center. Our staff members will be there to help volunteers. We have more than 800 grown fruit trees to care for and 1000s of plants of various species growing in the field. We are also rearing about 80 goats and 30 turkeys and some poultry in the farm. Learn more about the volunteering location (Resources center) here

Our major works in the farm:

  • Landscape management
  • Vegetable farming
  • Goat rearing
  • Research

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers will work, learn and research at our farm. They will help and learn alongside our staff members. Volunteers will learn much about the farming and rural community after staying on the farm.

Accommodation

The accommodation is available onsite at the farm. You should not expect luxury on your stay at our farm. However, you will have your own room, and the rooms are always clean. You will have access to a traditional squat toilet and a cold shower. You need to take care of your health and request and inform the farm manager if you are allergic to any foods. We have good electricity and drinking water sources at our farm. You should manage your own wifi device for the internet or you can use cellular internet.

What will volunteers learn and do at the farm?

Volunteers will learn about agriculture, forestry, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, nursery management, organic farming, and livestock farming. Our farm is located in a rural village. Volunteers can learn and experience the rural community of Sindhupalchok.

The volunteering opportunities are liable to a certain fee, which is necessary for management in the resource center. If you are interested in volunteering opportunities kindly contact Mr. Sujan, suzan.gautam2054@gmail.com  or directly contact us at nafscol@gmail.com.
