Brief info

Sujan Gautam is currently pursuing his PhD in Plant Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He graduated with an MS in Plant Breeding through the Erasmus Mundus double-degree master’s scholarship program (emPLANT+), funded by the European Commission. He also holds a BSc degree in Agricultural Science. Sujan has been actively involved in various non-profit organizations, youth-led initiatives, research institutions, and agribusiness companies. Currently, he serves as the President of the Agroforestry Society Nepal (ASN), with Nepal Agroforestry Seed Center being a member company of ASN.

As the Technical Advisor of our company, he provides valuable insights for technical projects. During his tenure as a full-time employee, he supervised seed collection, storage, germination analysis, packaging, digital and online promotion, content creation, outreach, and communication. He also managed staff in the seed-selling unit and the seed and plant resource center. Currently, he remotely supervises and provides technical support to ensure the quality of our product delivery.

Sujan has extensive experience in seed and plant production for agroforestry species. His interests lie in organic agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and plant breeding and genetics. He has actively participated in several conferences.

He also holds a three-year leadership position with the Wells Mountain Initiative as a Global Advisory Board Member in the United States and serves as a Board Member of the Modern Agriculture and Livestock Farmers Group, working directly with farming communities in Nepal. Additionally, he has been engaged in various youth movements and serves as a country ambassador for multiple global youth-led initiatives. He represented Nepal at the World Youth Forum 2018 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, and the Dream Big Conference 2018 in Kampala, Uganda.
